A first hand account of one of the biggest cases of human trafficking during the Cold War. A story of greed, courage, hope and remorse.
Few people know that during the Cold War, West Germany Romania has sold over 250,000 ethnic Germans. Günther Hein Husch, secret negotiator of Germany, came to Bucharest with suitcase full of money to buy people's freedom. One such case was that of Erika and Lazar, who had to adapt to the new rules of capitalism after it was bought for 47,000 German marks. The film narrates the story of cinema hidden arrangement of the secret services of the two countries and reveals happenings experienced by the characters involved in this process.
